Meet Vsquared
When Patrick Hümmer joined Vsquared in 2023, the Munich-based VC was gearing up for its next phase of growth.
With a mission to back founders “engineering the seemingly impossible” — across new computing & sensing, robotics & manufacturing, AI & next-gen software, New Space, tech-bio, and energy transition — Vsquared needed more than just investment capital.
Patrick’s role quickly evolved from optimizing and building out foundational systems to scaling a sophisticated financial engine capable of managing multiple fund generations.
Leveraging his background in banking, corporate finance, and as a founder of a financial software company, Patrick established a modular, tech-led finance stack. This includes fund accounting, SPV oversight, and pan-European regulatory compliance—and it integrates tools for KYC/AML and investor onboarding.
One such tool provides centralized investor data and compliance workflows, helping reduce friction during fundraising and due diligence.
In June 2024, Vsquared closed its oversubscribed Fund II at €214 million—surpassing the €165 million target to become Europe’s largest early-stage deep-tech fund—bringing total AUM to around €450 million. Early portfolio companies include Cylib (battery recycling), Synthara (embedded chips), and Neura Robotics, with cheque sizes ranging from €500 k to €5 million.
Patrick’s finance architecture ensures the firm can scale complex investment structures, manage investor relations, and maintain compliance—all at the speed of deep-tech innovation.
Vsquared proves that backing groundbreaking tech requires not just visionary founders—but a financial infrastructure built to match. With Patrick’s leadership, the firm is well-positioned to support Europe’s next generation of tech pioneers.
